As per the recent news update by The Star, acting horizons of two prominent faces of Canadian nativity are apparently facing some problems. These two actors are Ellen Page and Michael Cera. The Star which is the largest daily newspaper from Canada explains the reason for this, in its online version.
Until recently the duo from the Oscar nominated “Juno”, were the brightest new stars in the cinematic world. Ellen had received the Oscar nomination for her brilliant performance and got the Best Actress nomination.
As per the report, people do not agree with the observation on Ellen Page as being typecast. Although many agree that “Whip It” didn’t do well at the box office, yet there are some amazing roles that Page has done and which are remembered. In more recent appearances, Page is paired up with Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie Inception which is directed by Christopher Nolan. She has also made a stunning appearance in the movie Peacock where she is working along with the likes of Josh Lucas, Cilian Murphy, Bill Pullman and Susan Sarandon. Both the movies are amazing for the cast and people are waiting for their release.
However, The Star was critical of the recent career choices made by Page. Her lead role in Whip it was not a smart choice and should be more selective with respect to her talent. She dropped out of the classic Jane Eyre from Ruby Films and more recently from Drag Me to Hell from Sam Raimi. This dropout was not particularly liked as it would have been a better option for her and her career and she is still considered a better option than her replacement Alison Lohman, in the movie.
